Important update: New Executive Board of IACAET

July 7, 2024

On behalf of the Executive Committee (EC), we would like to inform you about some new changes to the Executive Board (EB) of IACAET.

As several of the EB members have completed their terms of service to IACAET, some of them are saying goodbye to us. We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to them for their support to IACAET in the past four years. Without them, our organization would not have taken off and thrived since its establishment in 2019. Special thanks to Prof. Helen Payne (President), Prof. Vivien Marcow Speiser and Warren Nebe on the EC for holding and leading our organization, for your vision, dedication and generous contributions, especially through the Covid period. IACAET has made impressive contributions to our community through its global events and open access journal CAET among many other things, supporting the global dialogue and collaboration in our field and in human health.

Helen, Vivien and Warren will continue as EC Emeriti and will serve as advisors to IACAET. Dr Phillip Speiser (Event Committee), Karen Bradley and Niek Ghekiere (Education Committee), Francesca Ciaudano (PR Committee), Elikem Alfred Kunutsor (Africa Committee), Clive Holmwood (Europe Committee), Daniel Summer (North America Committee) and Diana Fischman (South America Committee) are passing their leadership on to the new committee chairs and regional directors. We would also like to thank all the chairs and directors for leading their committees and for building up the foundation of each committee among many challenges, which is essential for the growth of IACAET in the next stage.

It is our great pleasure that Dr. Val Huet has taken the role of president of IACAET. We believe that under the leadership of Val, the EC and EB, we are in a position to shape IACAET for the next stage of development and growth.  IACAET is still a young yet dynamic, open, and inclusive organization aiming to support global dialogue and collaboration between East-West-South-North regions. We are putting motivated and committed people on committees so that IACAET can make things happen with effective communication and actions. A mid-term evaluation will be implemented to ensure we are all aligned with the shared mission and planned actions, and that our committees and organization are performing well.

Please refer to https://www.iacaet.org/executive-board/ for the details of current EB members who you can reach out to directly.  If you are interested in joining the central and regional committees of IACAET (https://www.iacaet.org/committees/), and co-shape our organization, please reach out to our committee chairs and regional directors.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We welcome your feedback and suggestions for further improvement so that we can serve the organization, our members and community better.
